Join DAP this October to spread awareness about domestic violence and services DAP provides. Last year DAP helped over 2,000 NEW victims of abuse with legal, counseling, emergency shelter and the 24/7 hotline. Thousands were reached by the Community Outreach team. With your support of these activities, DAP will be able to do even more for victims and their children. We have many activities available throughout this month including our first ever online challenge and our first Designer Bag Bingo. Boscov’s Friend’s Helping Friends is back! You can purchase your pass at Nana’s in order to save at Boscov’s on October 17th. The Outreach team will be even busier during October with events across the county. The first begins October 2nd. Starting around 10:00 am our Medical Advocate will be at the Media Courthouse sharing the Clothesline Project. Come by and see the inspiration shirts created by clients helped by the efforts of volunteers and donors just like you. Please share the flyer below with more on the many ways you can help this DVAM.
One of the first actions you can take is to “like” DAP’s Facebook page at DAPDelco in order to stay up to date on events and challenges. We’ll continue to update Facebook with activities and look forward to a fun and busy month. Then help us by getting your friends and family to “like” the page too.
We are going to need community support all month long to win challenges during the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge. This is a national online awareness and fundraising campaign. Through online challenges DAP will have the opportunity to raise much needed funds to help even more victims of abuse across Delco. Don’t forget to get your purple attire ready for October 19th, Purple Thursday. Take pics of your school, work, friends… dressed in purple. Send those pics to us at info@dapdc.org and we’ll post on DAP’s Facebook page to show the community support for domestic violence awareness. Don’t have anything purple? No problem, think Nana’s Attic or the Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends Event to find that perfect purple item to wear.
