Volunteer

Hotline Volunteer: Hotline volunteers have the flexibility to answer our 24-hour crisis hotline during the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm in the main office, located in the Media Borough.  Ideally, volunteers should have a high school diploma or related experience, and are required to complete an additional supervised on-site training.  Hotline calls include crisis, information and referral through assessment of needs.

Outreach Volunteer:  Volunteers assist with staffing info tables at events to raise awareness and build support for the agency in the Delaware County community. 

We are also looking for dynamic presenters to assist our department with providing educational programs about domestic violence to the community.  Presenters are needed for both adult and youth programs, and volunteer trainers work in teams with a staff member until they are comfortable presenting alone.

Administrative Support: Copying, filing, and organizing are often helpful in our main office. Occasionally, this role could also assist in covering a lunch or other needed fill-in shift at our front desk answering phone calls.

We are seeking compassionate individuals to provide emotional support to accompany victims to the Delaware County Courthouse, which is one block away from our Main Office in Media. Volunteers must be available on Tuesdays during the days. This activity could take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the court's caseload that day.
