3 Delaware County nonprofits receive 2025 GSK IMPACT Awards

PHILADELPHIA — Three Delaware County nonprofit organizations — Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County, Delco Literacy, and Senior Community Services — have been named among 10 Greater Philadelphia organizations to receive a 2025 GSK IMPACT Award, presented by GSK in partnership with the Philadelphia Foundation.

Each year, this highly competitive recognition honors organizations that improve community health through innovative ideas, measured outcomes, collaborative partnerships, and accountable leadership. In conjunction with the award, each organization will receive $50,000 in unrestricted funding to strengthen programs and services that advance health and well-being.

In addition to financial support, the award offers valuable capacity-building opportunities.

On Nov. 11, representatives from all awardees joined GSK employees to collaborate on solutions to organizational challenges. GSK also provided professional photography and videography for each organization to support outreach, education, and marketing efforts.

Leaders from each organization shared what this recognition means for their organization and its work in the community.

Michelle Brown, executive director of Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County, said, “This award is a powerful affirmation of our mission to create safety and hope for those impacted by domestic violence. It strengthens our ability to provide critical services and reinforces the culture of care we’ve built within our team. With this support, we can continue to meet challenges head-on and ensure that every individual we serve feels valued and protected.”

Colleen Duran, executive director of Delco Literacy, stated, “Literacy is a foundation for health and well-being. When adults can read, write, and communicate effectively, they can access healthcare, secure employment, and advocate for themselves and their families. This award strengthens our ability to remove barriers and open doors for learners across.”

Arthur Weisfeld, executive director of Senior Community Services, noted, “Older adults face unique health challenges, and isolation can make those challenges worse. This recognition allows us to expand programs that keep seniors connected, informed, and supported, because aging with dignity and choice is essential to community health.”
